Oatmeal Protein Energy Balls

These no-bake oatmeal protein energy balls are the perfect on-the-go snack! Packed with protein, fiber, healthy fats, and natural sweetness, they are ideal for a quick energy boost. The combination of oats, peanut butter, nuts, and dried fruits creates a delicious and nutritious bite-sized treat that’s super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (natural, unsweetened)
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional for extra nutrition)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (such as raisins, cranberries, or chopped apricots)
  • 1/4 cup protein powder (vanilla or unflavored, optional for added protein)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), chia seeds (if using), chopped nuts, dried fruit, protein powder, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well until everything is evenly combined and forms a sticky dough.
  2. Form into Balls: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the mixture into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If the mixture is too sticky, you can refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes to make it easier to handle.
  3. Chill: Place the energy balls on a baking sheet or in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
  4. Serve and Store: Enjoy the energy balls right away or store them in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Tips and Variations

  • Chocolate Lovers: Add 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs for a chocolatey version.
  • Nut-Free Option: Replace the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or almond butter for a nut-free alternative.
  • Add Coconut: Roll the energy balls in shredded coconut for extra texture and flavor.
  • Adjust Texture: If the mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon or two of water or almond milk. If it’s too wet, add more oats.

These no-cook oatmeal protein energy balls are customizable, nutritious, and the perfect snack to keep you energized throughout the day!
